Members of The George Gee Swing Orchestra was tasked to be the “Late Night Band” in this series of promo spots for the CNN original series “The Story of Late Night” airing in May 2021. The segments also included anchorperson Erin Burnett, who was an absolute delight to work with on these commercials. In the band included trombonist David Gibson (who also arranged the “CNN Late Night Theme”), saxophonist Michael Hashim, pianist Steve Einerson, bassist Malik McLaurine and rimshot specialist Brian Fishler. Additional musicians included guitarist Mark Whitfield Jr. and saxophonist Carl Garrison.
